A Sea of Watch Faces and Gears

Watch faces of every shape and color fill the frame without a single gap: round dials in red, blue, green, purple, and gold sit beside a scattering of rectangular and cushion-shaped cases. Some faces show plain hour markers, others carry small sub-dials, date windows, or Roman numerals, and a couple of dive-watch bezels ring their black faces with painted numbers. Loose watch movements peek through the cracks between the dials, their tiny gears and springs rendered in silver and brass. A few brown leather straps curl at the edges of their cases, the only soft texture among all the metal and glass. Hands point in different directions on every dial, so no two clocks agree on the time. The overall palette stays metallic and warm, gold and steel dominating with bursts of color from the painted dial backgrounds. With every face slightly different, the eye is drawn to compare one dial's numerals against the next.
