Astronomy Shop of Globes and Telescopes

An astronomy shop stacked to the rafters with instruments. Two brass telescopes on wooden tripods stand at the left before bookcases of atlases and bound volumes, armillary spheres and orreries above them. Globes of the earth, a red planet and painted moons crowd the counter beside a sextant, a brass dial and small jars of coloured sand. Zodiac wheels, constellation prints and star charts paper the walls, and painted planets — a banded giant, a ringed world, a blue globe — hang from the ceiling on cords. Star lanterns and gilt sun faces line a shelf at the right above bottles of pigment. Trays of mineral specimens rest on velvet under the counter, rolled charts leaning in a crate on the floorboards. Round globes repeat a shape the flat charts never do.
