A set of bagpipes lies across a sunken stone amphitheatre, with a rounded coral bag painted in swirls and bands of purple and teal. Three drone pipes in blue, green and purple run from the bag, joined by a braided rope, and a pale blue chanter with finger holes points toward the front. Musicians sit on the curved tiers playing small pipes, a piper stands on top of the bag, and another group plays inside its hollow. A worker climbs a ladder at the edge of the bag, dancers walk the rope, and others bundle reeds or lay out reed tools at wooden tables. Blue staircases, arched alcoves, orange reed beds and tiled floors surround it. The colour-banded pipes and tiers give the picture clean, separate runs.
