Bicycle Climbing the Switchback Mountain Pass

A huge bicycle lies against a gray mountainside, its pink front wheel and mint green rear wheel ringed in blue. The frame is purple, teal and coral with gold scrollwork, and blue bells and mushrooms grow along the tubes. Tiny riders live on it: a camper's yellow tent is pitched on the leather saddle, a courier stacks boxes on the rear rack, and a swing hangs from the handlebars. A small wooden bridge crosses the top tube. Around the bike a cobbled road winds back and forth in tight switchbacks, with cyclists pedaling up, brick retaining walls, orchard terraces, little sheds and a hoist for cargo. The looping road bends and the two big colored wheels give the picture strong landmarks, so every curve of the pass looks different from the next.
