Bustling Edwardian Department Store

A tailor measures a customer for a new coat while other gentlemen in top hats browse racks of tweed jackets along the back wall. A grand staircase with a patterned runner climbs through the center of the store, a small bird perched on the banister above rows of boots and shoes set out for fitting. At the millinery counter, feathered and flowered hats crowd every surface as two women hold up a wide plumed hat between them, footprints and dropped gloves scattered across the checkered floor. Nearby, a clerk arranges bolts of colorful fabric on a bed of folded cloth, a boy hiding beneath the draped folds.
