Colorful Bark Fragments Scattered

Long, elongated pieces of tree bark overlap edge to edge across the whole frame, each fragment a different color and texture. Rust orange, olive green, ash gray, deep plum, and pale birch-white pieces lie jumbled together, their surfaces etched with fine cracks, ridges, and lichen-like mottling. Some fragments are smooth and papery, while others show deep furrows running the length of the piece, as if peeled straight from an old trunk. A few pale, almost bleached fragments interrupt the darker earth tones, catching the eye against the surrounding browns. No single fragment is flat or perfectly straight; each one tapers, curls, or splits slightly at the edge, adding to the sense of natural randomness. Layer after layer of overlapping bark, each with its own grain and hue, already divides the surface into countless small, distinct fragments to sort by color and shape.
