Crowds at a Handmade Quilt Show

Inside a timber exhibit hall, dozens of patchwork quilts hang from the rafters on clothes pegs, their star bursts, rose wreaths, and log-cabin squares glowing red, green, and gold under the skylights. Vendors stand behind blue-draped tables pointing out details to visitors carrying tote bags, while more quilts line the side walls all the way to the far doors under the words Exhibit Hall. Sunlight pours through tall windows onto the wooden floor, catching the edges of the hanging fabric. Every quilt above the crowd was built from small squares stitched edge to edge, the same patient logic now filling the room from floor to rafter.
