Dutch Windmill Countryside in Tulip Season

Rows of tulips in red, orange, pink, purple and yellow stripe the fields on both sides of a winding river, their bands curving toward a thatched-roof windmill at the water's edge. Two more windmills stand further back near a stone bridge, their sails turned against a sky filled with puffy clouds and gliding birds. A brick cottage with a thatched roof and green shutters sits among its own flower beds on the right, near a second stone bridge where ducks paddle beneath a bicycle loaded with a basket of tulips. Rowboats rest along the grassy banks and one drifts on the water near a small dock. Cows graze in a meadow that stretches toward a village, its church spire and rooftops visible on the horizon. Every field runs its own color from edge to edge, so the land splits into long, distinct bands a wanderer could count one by one.
