A festival fills the cobbled square before a grey castle gate, its towers hung with red and gold banners bearing lions and suns. Blue-canopied stalls line both sides: a pottery stand stacked with painted jugs and plates, a spice and goods counter, a weaver's rail of patterned robes and rugs. Townspeople in bright tunics and gowns crowd the middle, a knight in mail toasting a woman in pink, children and a golden dog in front of them. Handcarts loaded with barrels and produce stand among the crowd, and two draped horses wait near the gate. A stone fountain plays beside a planted bed at the right, where a man sits playing a lute, torches burning on the wall above. Every stall keeps its own palette against the grey stone.
