Figure Painting Toy House

A toymaker's workshop the night before Christmas, warm with lantern light and a lit fireplace. Shelves climb every wall with wooden houses, rocking horses, dolls in printed dresses, nutcrackers, spinning tops and painted trains, and wrapped presents in red, green and blue stack between them. On the central bench a snow-covered model railway curls past tiny cottages, pines and a station marked Winterhaven, with three trains on its track. Tools, paint pots, brushes and a carver's manual lie among ribbon spools and offcuts. At the left the maker sits in a patterned sweater, brush in hand, painting a small blue house.
