A pirate harbour at sunset, ringed by green limestone cliffs and palms. A red-sailed ship lies at the main dock with a skull flag at its masthead; two more tall ships ride at anchor in the turquoise water beyond, and a rowing boat crosses toward the far pier. The waterfront is a row of painted houses — a yellow tavern called The Salty Seagull, a pink storefront, awnings striped in orange and blue — with market stalls of fruit and vegetables beneath them. Crates in purple, red and blue stack along the boards beside barrels, coils of rope and an anchor. Figures in coats and boots move along the quay while one, foreground right, hauls in a line. Painted hulls, bright crates and the flat turquoise bay separate cleanly into their own regions.
