Flying Carpet Above the Striped Canyon

A huge patterned carpet floats across a canyon, its teal field filled with red-orange medallions, star shapes and golden scrolls inside a purple border, with tassels in pink and mint at the corners. On the carpet, people live as on a deck: guards stand at the top corner, a small crowd gathers on a platform at the center, tents are pitched along the edges, and a little sailing boat with a white sail waits at the lower right. Wooden bridges link the carpet to the cliffs. The canyon walls are banded in ochre, rust, blue and green, with caves cut into them, and market stalls with colored awnings, camels, pack animals and a cart sit on the ledges. The strong carpet pattern and the layered cliffs give clear bands of color.
