A glasshouse station arches overhead in wrought iron and glazing, wisteria and bougainvillea spilling from every beam. A green locomotive waits at the first platform with its tender, a second train drawing in behind under an ornate archway topped by a clock tower. Passengers in coats and hats stand with suitcases along the platform; others cross the paved concourse below, where lily ponds, a tiered fountain and small stone bridges break up the paving. Palms, ferns and flowering shrubs bank against the walls on both sides. A flower stall and a plant shop trade under the glass at the right, and a gardener in a straw hat waters pots on a mezzanine above them. Green foliage and iron ribs give the eye two clear skeletons to build along.
