Two huge gears turn on red wooden shafts in the middle of a cobbled mill town. The orange gear has a blue rim painted with wheat, sunflowers and birds, and wooden spokes inside. The teal gear below it is decorated with green leaves. Small people live in the machinery: a baker kneads dough on the shaft, two musicians sit on a spoke, a couple naps in a hammock under a kite, and a worker climbs a ladder. Mice sit on a beam, and pink blossom trees and mushrooms grow on the teeth. Around the gears, colourful flour sacks pile up beside timber houses on stilts, arched stone buildings with beehives and roof gardens, grindstones and vegetable beds. The coloured sacks and gear rims make the pieces easy to place.
