A harp stands tilted across the picture, its green curved neck at the top, a tall blue and coral column at the right and a painted soundboard sweeping down to the lower left. Dozens of strings in red, violet, orange and cream run between neck and body. Houses hang among the strings on little platforms, joined by rope bridges, ladders and washing lines. A row of shops and cottages stands along the neck, with three musicians playing at the end and a bell tower on top of the column. A small choir stands on the scroll base at the bottom. Around the harp are half-timbered houses with tiled roofs, cobbled lanes, a canal and a courtyard where harps are built and strung. The strings and the roofs give the picture its rhythm and make the pieces easy to place.
