Kayak Camp Beside the Whitewater Bends

A giant kayak lies diagonally in a river of foamy turquoise rapids, its hull in yellow, teal, pink and blue, decorated with fish, frogs and leaves. A paddle rests across the cockpit. The cockpit is open like a cutaway, with a cabin, bunk and workers inside. Tents with a washing line stand on the teal deck, a lookout tower with a flag stands near the bow, and a round window shows a boatbuilder's workshop. A cook tends a campfire, a fisherman casts a line from the stern, and ladders and fish traps hang off the sides. On the banks are boathouses with green and purple roofs, rows of kayaks drying on racks, cobbles, blossom trees and rafts. Small paddlers run the rapids. The swirling water and the boldly coloured hull make easy edges for the pieces.
