Lanterns Over The River Festival

A family kneels at the water's edge, floating glowing lotus-shaped lanterns onto a river already scattered with pink water lilies and candlelight. Overhead, hundreds of paper sky lanterns drift past a crescent moon toward a stone bridge crowded with flag-waving onlookers. Wooden houses with tiled roofs line the riverbank, their windows lit warmly against the deepening blue evening. Paper lanterns in red and gold hang from a nearby tree branch, where a parrot and kingfishers perch among hibiscus blossoms. Boats glide along the water further downstream, carrying more lanterns and passengers past lily pads glowing gold and pink. Flowering vines and tropical blooms crowd the foreground on both banks.
