Mountain Observatory Library Ill

An observatory library high in the mountains. A brass telescope on a wooden tripod points through a tall arched window, where snow-capped peaks stand against a night sky streaked with the Milky Way and a crescent moon. Star charts and circular constellation maps paper the walls between bookcases packed to the ceiling; a ladder leans to the upper gallery. The central table carries three globes, an armillary sphere, open books of diagrams, rolled charts, a quill in an inkpot and a magnifying glass. A fire burns in the stone hearth at the left beside another globe on its stand, with a mantel clock and oil lamps above. Lanterns glow along the shelves. Blue charts, warm timber and the deep window sky hold apart cleanly, giving the eye three sure anchors.
