Old Cinema Lobby and Ticket Booth

A cinema foyer in red and gold, its coffered ceiling painted with figures and hung with crystal chandeliers. A carved octagonal ticket kiosk stands at the centre behind brass posts and rope, its glass panels lit from within. Framed film posters cover both walls in blues, greens and reds, one board announcing a silent film beside a curtained doorway through to the screens. A carpeted staircase with red drapes climbs at the left under wall lamps, while a clock and a price menu hang above the concession counter at the right, where popcorn machines, striped tubs, boxed sweets and paper cups fill the glass. Patterned tiles run along the lower walls and a red and blue carpet covers the floor. The poster grid sets a rhythm the carpet answers.
