Old Tea Merchant's Shop

A tea merchant's shop packs its timber shelves from floor to ceiling. Painted tins in mint, coral and gold carry blend names, while glass jars of loose leaf and dried petals fill the rows between them. Porcelain teapots and cups in floral patterns line the upper shelves beside copper scoops hung on a beam. A bank of small labelled drawers runs beneath, brass balance scales standing on the counter and a second scale further along. Woven baskets of green, black and rose-red leaf sit open on the floorboards among stencilled wooden crates. Roses and ferns crowd the tall windows at the right, with bunches of herbs drying above them and framed leaf prints on the brick. The tins' flat colours break the shelving into easy runs for the eye.
