A red poppy opens at the upper left, its petals lined in pink, purple and gold, with a teal seed pod at the centre. Tiny gardeners work in the bloom: two on ladders against the pod, one pushing a wheelbarrow pulled by beetles, and washing hung on a line across a petal. The stem runs down to the lower right with pale green leaves, one holding a glass dome where a person tends a flower. Around the poppy lie fenced plots with spiral soil patterns in cream, blue and gold, lily ponds, greenhouses and small huts. Gardeners water, dig and carry baskets in the beds. The fences divide the plots into neat areas, and the swirls in each plot give pieces plenty of their own pattern.
