Quatrefoil Flower Tile Mosaic

Pointed, lantern-shaped tiles tile the frame edge to edge, each one bordered in heavy black outline and centered on an eight-petaled flower. The petals alternate colors around each flower, coral and teal, gold and lavender, or green and blue, with a small circle at the very center. Where four tile points meet, a smaller cusped shape holds a fleur-de-lis or a cluster of pointed leaves, again in its own color combination. A fine, speckled texture fills the background of every cell, giving the flat color a slightly grainy, hand-painted look. The whole grid follows the same lantern shape without variation, so the pattern's only change from tile to tile is which color family fills it: coral, teal, mustard, purple, or green. That strict repetition of one tile shape in many colors makes it easy to track exactly which patch of color a piece has come from.
