Rainbow Sea Fan on the Reef Shelf

A huge gorgonian sea fan spreads across the whole picture, its branches dyed in separate colours: green on the left, purple below, magenta in the middle, yellow above and orange on the right. Every branch is filled with a fine honeycomb net. A thick crimson trunk anchors it to a sandy ledge on the lower right. Tiny divers work all over it: one climbs a rope up the trunk, another stands on a ladder in the orange fronds, one sprays a clearing in the green, and two more tend a small stone shelter at the base. A school of fish swims through a gap in the green branches. Brain coral, tube sponges and shells crowd the edges, and a little raft floats in the shallows. The fan's five colour zones give the puzzle clear regions to sort first.
