Rose Window Above the Spire Town

A vast Gothic rose window fills the picture, its golden tracery radiating from a swirling purple galaxy at the centre. Each petal holds its own stained-glass scene: a sailing ship, a golden lion, a white dove, a blue whale, an eight-pointed star, a spreading tree. Carved orange leaves and praying angels frame the circle in a teal border. Yellow and pink mushrooms cluster on the rim, and a flowering teal tree grows from a twisting orange vine on the right. At the base, a tiny town of timber houses and an arcaded hall sits on the ledge, with little figures walking between them. Behind it all rise crowded spires and towers in every colour, and the many differently coloured glass petals give each piece a clear place to belong.
