A dressing room panelled in carved wood holds a rail of embroidered robes in purple, teal, crimson and gold, their sleeves stiff with scrolling brocade. Two headless mannequins by the right wall wear a violet gown worked in gold and a teal tunic with a sash; a third at the left carries a blue and cream dress beside a gilt mirror, a small portrait and a glazed cabinet of fans and bottles. Rows of embroidered slippers in every colour fill three long shelves beneath jewel caskets, a plumed cap, a feathered hat and a painted fan. Bolts of patterned silk stack to the ceiling at the right above a carved worktable of thread spools, ribbons, scissors and pins. Leather trunks and folded shawls pile at the left, more cases stored overhead, a patterned rug across the floor. Repeated shoes and spools give the shelves a built-in count.
