Snowy Mountain Village at Christmas

A village of steep-roofed timber houses fills a snowy valley beneath jagged, moon-lit peaks, their windows glowing gold against the dark blue night. A stream cuts through the center, tumbling over a small waterfall and crossed by three wooden footbridges strung with lights. Decorated fir trees stand at doorways and in the square, hung with red and gold baubles and ribbon, while a stone clock tower topped with a star rises above shops marked Hearthstone Bakery, Snowshoe Inn, and The Toymaker. Sleds lean against snowbanks and stone walls, stacked firewood sits beside doorways, and lamp posts wrapped in garland light the paths between houses. Bundled figures walk the bridges and gather near the square's tall tree, pulling sledges past wrapped gifts. Snow blankets every roof and branch under a star-filled sky, and each little building along the slope keeps its own lit window to be told apart from its neighbors.
