Vanda Orchid in the Greenhouse Nursery

A vanda orchid towers over a tiled greenhouse floor, its blossoms in purple, orange, teal, pink and blue spotted with fine speckles. Long strap leaves fan out above, and thick aerial roots in lilac, teal and cream trail down into a mossy planter. Little gardeners work all over it: one tends a leaf, another climbs a ladder, others cross plank walkways along the roots. A potting bench with tools and a cart of seedlings stands below, and a small watering can rests on a leaf. Behind, coloured shelves hold rows of tiny potted orchids in yellow, blue, red, green, orange and purple, and hanging baskets swing on ropes. The shelf colours run in bands across the back wall, which helps sort the pieces.
