A huge wooden loom stands in a cobbled lane of a crooked town, with a blue top beam, red rails and an orange bench. Stripes of pink, teal and yellow thread run through the reeds, and the finished cloth at the front shows an orchard with birds and flowers. Spools hang on cords from the beam, where children ride swings and a woman stirs a barrel of purple dye. Little houses, a lemon tree and a grandmother in a rocking chair sit along the top, with a fiddler beside her. Green treadles lie below, trailing teal blossoms and purple mushrooms. Around the loom are dye barrels, drying skeins of wool, rolls of patterned cloth, a spinning wheel and houses with arched balconies and roof gardens. The stripes of thread and the colored barrels make many small colored zones.
