A cutaway workshop devoted to catching and mending sound stretches across several rooms, each stacked with a different task. Along the top floor, waveform charts glow on screens while workers polish metal discs and dip strips of colored ribbon that represent sound into dye baths, the excess pooling in rainbow puddles. A net slung from the rafters catches drifting scraps of echo before they escape through the roof. In the stone-walled control room, two operators watch dials and switches, and nearby a row of hanging bells is struck and tuned one at a time. Downstairs, a conveyor belt carries glowing jars of captured sound past inspectors, while others sort foam blocks, carry blueprints, or wheel gongs across the floor. A padded triangular chamber and a cluttered storeroom of boxes round out the space, every corner busy with its own small repair, waiting to be traced back to where it belongs.
